I’ve been updating my wardrobe and I discovered that I didn’t own anything that was pink. I always seem to stay away from the color because I never found anything that stood out to me. Usually I like earth tones and a lot of black (no matter the season) and sometimes I mix in some bright colors when the weather is warmer, but that’s rare.
Now with Pink being a big color for the Spring 2015 season, I saw a variety of things I liked in some of the plus-size stores I frequent online. So I said what the heck, let me try out this pink thing and guess what? I love it!!
First off is this dope trench coat from Carmakoma. It’s light weight and perfect for the windy spring days. I can see myself wearing this with so many other things too, so it was a great buy.
NOTE: This coat is also available on Evans and Navabi for a lower price. I got my at Evans because they always have coupon codes and sales. So the price was slashed in half! Continue Reading
Iris Apfel is a 93 year-old fashion maven who I’ve been fascinated with for the past few years. Her accessory game is crazy and even though she is close to 100, she is still going after her dreams.
While living in NYC for 4 years, I tried many times to meet her but it never happened. However, I was lucky enough to snag a few of her vintage pieces when she had a closet sale last year with One Kings Lane. I’ll blog about those soon!
Anyway, I was delighted to find out this week that her 2013 documentary has an official release date. Recorded by the late great Albert Maysles (from Grey Gardens fame) this is a definite must see.
Check out the trailer above and view Iris in select theaters April 29th from Magnolia Pictures.
